This is a sneak peak into the new issue of Solomiya Magazine – an English-language independent magazine founded in response to the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine and born from artists’ decolonial engagement. It presents diverse perspectives on contemporary realities and social issues in Ukraine and beyond, through visual art, text and design.
The fifth issue, guided by the motto “After Now,” brings together voices from Yemen to Ukraine, from Georgia to Germany, turning attention to the present – to the conditions that shape the paths our futures may follow.
In this show, you can hear the voices behind the new Solomiya issue. Hosted by Natalia Martynenko, in conversation with Sebastian Wells, Ivanna Kozachenko, Khulud Alharthi, and Illia Todurkin. It also features a soundscape depicting Kyiv’s blackout realities, kindly provided by Andrii Ushytskyi, as well as a voiceover snippet by Vsevolod Kazarin from his conversation with a soldier known as Starman, which you can read in the magazine.
Solomiya Magazine is now also available in the Cashmere bookstore at the studio and also here.
