For Clubcommissions 25th anniversary, we’re telling our story on the radio. Across four episodes on Berlin community radio stations, we explore key themes, historic moments and questions shaping the future of club culture.

Episode 3 focuses on Free Open Air culture, while also looking beyond: at the history of raves in Berlin, occupations and temporary autonomous spaces, Model Spaces, urban development and displacement. At the heart of the episode is the question of how we can create spaces, collectively claim them and shape them ourselves — and what role Free Open Airs play in Berlin’s club culture.

Together with @tutti_aka_turtur, @nicole_intothewild and @lydialiehm, we talk about past and present Clubcommission projects that support this kind of culture, as well as the many initiatives, movements and spaces that have emerged beyond them.
