Featuring audio pieces by Vadim Mochalov, Kyrylo Zymlyani and Kateryna Prokopova, produced in Kyiv, 2025, during the workshop Short Wave, Close Focus, hosted by Max Parnell and Christian Flemm, with support from the NGO Museum of Contemporary Art Ukraine and the Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund.

The non-governmental organisation “Museum of Contemporary Art” is a non-profit organisation aimed at creating a new type of professional contemporary art museum institution in Ukraine. Founded in 2020, the organisation brings together and engages artists, cultural workers, and experts who work with contemporary art throughout the country.

In sharing these artworks with audiences outside of the workshop and of Kyiv, listeners access a series of personal reflections on the joys and burdens of everyday life, and often to the closeness between them: shopping for groceries while whirring generators keep the electricity running; spontaneous cranberry snaps at 3 in the afternoon, only to be cut short; the sound of bossa nova playing in a bathroom at night, two walls away from the street; the unsettling respite of the early morning silence, followed by footsteps and gentle humming that continue on.
