kombibad books — Errant Journal, Against Visibility @ Kombibad Seestraße
A new broadcast from kombibad books, recorded during this summer's heatwave in the garden of Kombibad Seestraße. A conversation with Irene de Crean, founder and lead editor of Errant Journal, and writer-researcher Jamie McGhee, whose short story ‘Your Suffering Has Been Logged’ appeared in the journal's eighth issue.
Taking its cue from Édouard Glissant's ‘Poetics of Relation’, Errant Journal wanders away from the idea that the world should be transparent and explainable. Issue eight, ‘Against Visibility (or the right to opacity)’, asks what is lost when everything has to be seen, and what might be gained by refusing to be understood on someone else's terms.
This is the first of three autumn broadcasts, each featuring readings and conversations recorded in public spaces with books stocked at kombibad.
